PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY: Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte
KAUSWAGAN, LANAO DEL NORTE
29 June 2020
We regret to inform the public that today, we received confirmation that six (6) residents of Kauswagan have been CONFIRMED POSITIVE on RT-PCR TEST.
The patients are locally stranded individuals (LSI) – five (5) of them came from Cebu and one (1) came from NCR.
The five LSIs were placed under quarantine in our Isolation Unit in Barangay Delabayan since their arrival. On 14th day of isolation, the patients tested positive on rapid diagnostic test conducted by the Provincial Health Office and swab tests were done on June 23rd at the Northern Mindanao Tuberculosis Reference Center. Their results came in as POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 on RT-PCR confirmatory test on June 28th.
On the other hand, the LSI from NCR was admitted at LIGTAS COVID Facility in Barangay Inudaran and tested positive on rapid testing at PHO. Swab test was done on June 25th and the result came in as POSITIVE for COVID-19 on June 28th.
The six patients who are confirmed COVID-19 carriers are ASYMPTOMATIC (not showing any symptoms) and are now admitted in the Provincial Isolation Facility in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
As a result, Mayor Rommel Arnado had recommended for the imposition of a “hard lockdown” for some areas within Barangay Delabayan. Details of the hard lockdown will be provided by the LGU.
With this development, we call on our constituents to continue their vigilance and ensure that they strictly follow health protocols so we can prevent local transmission. The Municipal Health Office and our local task force are working ‘round-the-clock to monitor these cases.
While there is no reason to panic at this time, we call on our constituents to remain calm and wait for further updates from the authorities.
If not urgent or necessary, we ask everyone to please stay home.
